Second-generation Ram. Magnum 5.2/5.9/8.0 V10 gas and 5.9 Cummins 12-valve / 24-valve diesels. OBD-II is in force. Diesel listings that say firewall sit up on the cowl. On the 1997 Dodge Ram Truck the ECM usually sits engine bay; second-gen diesel trucks often used a firewall-mounted controller, later trucks move it to the driver fender or beside the master cylinder.
On a 1997 Cummins Ram the injection is often still VP44. Check the door-jamb build date if you are on the 2002–2003 edge.
