Dakota powertrain control modules

The Dakota is the small Ram. Second-gen (through 2004) shares a lot of powertrain with the first Durango: 2.5 four, 3.9 V6, 5.2 and 5.9 Magnum V8. Third-gen (2005–2011) switched to 3.7 and 4.7 PowerTech engines and a more modern automatic. Production ended after 2011, so these modules are a replacement-parts business.

Heat-soak no-starts, cam/crank codes that outlive the sensors, and a 42RLE that flares after a “new solenoid pack” are the Dakota PCM pattern. The box is in the engine bay, often by the overflow bottle on later trucks. We VIN-program it. You keep the old one.
