2006 Durango, 5.7L HEMI V8. Second-generation HB. 3.7/4.7/5.7 HEMI arrive. These SUVs cook modules in the engine bay and are frequent no-start / dead-bus cars. On the 2006 Dodge Durango the PCM usually sits under the hood on the driver-side inner fender; later WD trucks hide it behind the battery or air box.
It fires eight coils, runs MDS oil solenoids, and (on later trucks and LX cars) an eight-speed or five-speed map. A HEMI that lives in four-cylinder mode is a classic PCM / MDS control failure.
