2008 Magnum, 5.7L HEMI V8. Last two years of the Magnum. R/T and SRT8 wagons are the ones that still show up with failed PCMs after years of heat in the engine bay. On the 2008 Dodge Magnum the PCM usually sits engine bay, driver-side inner fender — same neighborhood as the early Charger.
It fires eight coils, runs MDS oil solenoids, and (on later trucks and LX cars) an eight-speed or five-speed map. A HEMI that lives in four-cylinder mode is a classic PCM / MDS control failure.
